Wedding Gift Ideas from Uncommon Goods

It’s become really commonplace to simply give cash or a gift card as a wedding gift (in Ireland anyway) and I fully appreciate how this can be so useful for the couple. It could be used towards their dream honeymoon, or purchasing the perfect linens and tableware for their home. This is a definite improvement on getting four toasters and a questionable dog-shaped plant pot (like my sister got many years ago for her wedding!). I still love giving a little gift alongside cash when I attend a wedding though; I just think that it shows you’ve put some thought and love into your gift, and the couple will always remember it!

The lovely folk at Uncommon Goods kindly asked recently if I’d like to take a look through their range of personalised wedding gifts As someone who loves trawling through Pinterest for unique ideas for personalised gifts, Uncommon Goods is the ideal spot to find that special gift for your friends or relatives to celebrate their wedding. Not only that, it’s also the perfect spot to find the ideal gift for your bridesmaids and groomsmen! I’ve picked some of my favourites to inspire you:

Personalized Whiskey Barrel

This is definitely something my fiancé and I would LOVE to get as a gift, or even to have it at our wedding reception next year! We are both big whiskey connoisseurs, and this personalised miniature whiskey barrel is perfect in a world that is currently overrun with gin products! You can get the barrel in 2 sizes – 2 litre and 5 litre, and there is also the option to get the barrel with a rum and whiskey making kit so you can try your own hand at creating your very own tipple. Those kits contain a set of whiskey and rum essences, paper funnels, and a cleaning kit. Check out the awesome whiskey barrel here!

With a great rustic quality, the durable mugs feature your initials ‘carved’ into a tree with your wedding date and are perfect for curling up together on the couch with! Personalized Heirloom Wedding Book

I adore this heirloom wedding book – it’s the perfect option for a wedding guestbook, and definitely one you’d be proud to display in your home long after the wedding day is over. Many guestbooks get tossed in a wardrobe, never to be seen again, but this beautiful book is bound in cherrywood and is engraved with the couple’s names and wedding date. Make sure to give this to the couple before the reception begins, or better yet, take the lead and pass the book around to as many guests as possible to sign so that they don’t have to worry about filling it up! Bridesmaid Gift Guide

A great go-to gift idea for bridesmaids is a piece of jewellery, so why not go one step further and give them something personal to each girl? These gorgeous birth month flower necklaces give a unique touch to a classic gift. I definitely have one bridesmaid who would be thrilled with the Chocolate Lover Hot Chocolate gift set, and I can think of so many brides and hens that would have so much fun with the Make Your Own Flower Crown set! Check out these and many more great bridesmaid gifts here.

Groomsman Gift Guide

The guys can definitely be a little trickier to buy gifts for! I like to encourage grooms to personalise a gift for each groomsman. If you have a beardy friend, why not treat him to this Beard Pack which even includes ‘whisker wash’? A cycling aficionado will love this Bike Six Pack Holder, but don’t forget that to remind them that they should never ‘drink and ride‘! You can discover these super gifts among lots of other groomsman gift ideas here.
