Celebrity Engagement Ring Inspiration

We just love hearing that celebrities have gotten engaged – we immediately want to know all the details. What was the proposal like? Where will they get marred? What designer will they wear? But most importantly, we want a look at that sparkler! It’s often the first inkling we get that a celeb couple have gotten engaged, before they even officially announce it. Many flash the diamond and then refuse to give a straight answer when asked if they are engaged. This week we’re looking at some of our favourite celebrity engagement rings, and where you can buy something similar!

Kate Middleton, aka The Duchess of Cambridge

It was the ultimate tribute to Prince William’s late mother, Princess Diana, when he asked Kate to marry him with Diana’s own sapphire and diamond engagement ring. Sparking a trend for thousands of girls who wanted their own fairytale princess wedding, the sapphire and diamond combination became a really popular choice for engagement rings.

Lady Gaga

Not one to be described as conventional by any means, we were very surprised when Lady Gaga’s fiance Taylor Kinney chose a very delicate, feminine heart-shaped diamond ring to propose to her with. It seems to have marked a transition in Lady Gaga’s style – of late, she has favoured old Hollywood glamour over her previous outrageous costume style (who could forget the meat dress?).

Heidi Klum

Even though this marriage didn’t last, the canary diamond ring that Seal gave to Heidi was just too gorgeous not to include here. I’m biased because I LOVE canary yellow diamonds. Dare to dream, right? The ring is a massive 10 carats.
